Boredom used to be visible.

A lobby. A bus stop. A checkout line. A restaurant table before the food came. People looked at walls, shoes, posters, strangers, ceiling tiles, rain. Boredom still exists, but it is less often shared in public. The empty interval has been filled by a private feed.
